Congratulations to Yvette D. Kiss of Lake City, Florida for submitting the winning entry in the Name That Robot Contest!  Yvette is the lucky recipient of a $50.00 Amazon Gift Card plus I will list her name in the acknowledgements section in the  front of my second novel!

So…what was the winning entry?  Xenon” will be the name of the deranged robot character in DARK STAR II: Rise of the Hubots slated for release later this year!

Now, in all fairness Yvette had some help from her daughter, Kailey (13) in all of this…but Yvette is the one who submitted the entry (and is also the one who is 18 years or older), so she is the official winner.  Still, I have to say “Great teamwork!” to the Kiss ladies!  And since Yvette is happy to share the limelight with her daughter, Kailey will be mentioned as helping her mom in the acknowledgements section of DARK STAR II.
Congratulations, Kailey!   🙂

A Little More About Our Winner…

Yvette tells me her hometown (Lake City) is called the crossroads of Florida because it’s where I-75 and
I-10 meet.  Yvette loves sci-fi movies (good choice); baking and cooking; drawing and painting; traveling; boating and camping at Fort Wilderness at Disney.  She owns her own business and works from home doing Bookkeeping and Property Management.  Yvette enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at school.  She also has three dogs and one cat.  The dogs and cat all have candy names, (hmmm…might be because their last name is Kiss?). Their animal companions include Sandy, (lab) Hershey (Yorkie), Snickers (Shitzu-Chihuahua mix) and Nestle the cat!

My sincere thanks to all who participated in the Name That Robot Contest.  I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed reading through all of your wonderful ideas and I hope you enjoyed this contest as much as I did!

  1. Oh my goodness Effrosyni…thank you for your comments! Yes, I do believe Yvette and her daughter were excited to learn that “mom” had won! Xenon is an awesome name–one that will undoubtedly work beautifully in DARK STAR II. 🙂

  2. Congratulations to Yvette and her daughter for entering with such a brilliant name! ‘Xenon’ sounds to me a lot like the Greek word ‘Xenos’ which means ‘stranger’ – quite apt for an alienating, deranged robot 🙂 Enjoy the publicity ladies – you and your pets sound just adorable, God bless 🙂
